In the review of The Snowflake, and Other Poems, by Arthur Weir, Montreal: John Lovell and Son, 1897, A.G. Doughty concluded, “Our survey of Mr. Weir’s book has been incomplete and inadequate, but perhaps we have said sufficient to indicate that there is much that will appeal to the lover of poetry.  Mr. Weir’s reputation as a poet is enhanced by the publication of this book” (p. 87).
