Doughty, Arthur G., Sir, editor, The Elgin-Grey Papers, 1846-1852 / La Collection Elgin-Grey, 1846-1852, Volumes 1-4, Ottawa: J.O. Patenaude, 1937.

Published after the death of A.G. Doughty by authority of the Secretary of State under the direction of and with an introduction by the Acting Dominion Archivist, James F. Kenney. In the "Introduction", Kenney acknowledged the assistance of Norah Story in the completion of this publication as ill-health compelled AGD to relinquish the editorial task.  She completed the editorial work, prepared the index, and saw the entire text through the press.

The Elgin-Grey papers consist of private letters that passed between James Bruce, eighth earl of Elgin and twelfth earl of Kincardine, and Henry George, third earl Grey while Lord Elgin was governor general of Canada and Earl Grey was secretary of state for the colonies. Elgin was married to Grey's niece. Miscellaneous papers relating to subjects of Canadian interest were also included. Each document was published in the language of the original, English or French.
