Doughty, Arthur G., editor, An Historical Journal of the Campaigns of North America for the Years 1757, 1758, 1769, and 1760, by Captain John Knox, Volumes 1-3, Toronto: Champlain Society, 1914 and 1916.

The original Historical Journal of the Campaigns of North America for the Years 1757, 1758, 1759, and 1760, by Captain John Knox was published in London in 1769. AGD edited the reprinted version in three volumes published in 1914 and 1916 by the Champlain Society. AGD added notes, maps and illustrations, as well as an Editor's Preface, Introduction, Appendix and Index.

This set represented a limited edition, with the following note at the beginning of each volume: "Five hundred and twenty copies of this volume have been printed. Twenty are reserved for editorial purposes. The remaining five hundred are supplied only to members of the Society and Subscribing Libraries." A list of subscribers and subscribing libraries was included at the end of each volume.

A Facsimile Edition of the Champlain Society reprint was published in 1968 by Greenwood Press; and republished again in 1970 by Books for Libraries Press.

Reviews at the time of the reprint praised the Champlain Society for taking the initiative to publish the journals which had been 'more often quoted by historians and seldom seen by readers'. This first reprinting of the journal represented a 'splendid work', and all of the notes, maps, and illustrations by AGD were regarded as adding value to the original volumes. (Review by H.E. Egerton, The English Historical Review, Vol. 30, No. 117 (January 1915), p. 151, and Review by C.P. Lucas, The American Historical Review, Vol. 22, No. 1 (October 1916), p. 174.
