“Books and Authors”, Old Regime in Canada, by Robert Stanley Weir, Reviewed by Arthur G. Doughty, The Canadian Magazine of politics, science, art and literature, vol. 8, no. 4, (February) 1897, pp. 370-372.

A.G. Doughty reviewed The Administration of the Old Regime in Canada, by Robert Stanley Weir, Montreal: L.E. & A.F. Waters, 1897, a thesis submitted to McGill University for a doctorate in civil law degree.  Although he found the work to be limited, he nonetheless noted that Mr. Weir presented a commentary on the administration of the period, up to 1763, of particular interest to the ordinary reader (p. 370).
