The handwritten manuscript and the published poems are versions of the same poem. While the poem as published in Rose Leaves, 1894, was reprinted word-for-word in Nugae Canorae, 1897, there is a one-word difference between the handwritten manuscript and the published poem. That is, "land" is substituted for "earth" in the published version (see: the second paragraph, 5th line).
