“Reviews of Books”, Wolfe and the Artists, by J. Clarence Webster, Reviewed by A.G. Doughty, The Canadian Historical Review, vol. 11, no. 4 (December), 1930, pp. 348-350.

In the review of the book, Wolfe and the Artists: A Study of his Portraiture, by J. Clarence Webster, Toronto: The Ryerson Press, 1930, Doughty called it “a delightful little book” (p. 348). The author, J.C. Webster, provided a survey of facts known about Wolfe, and the ways in which Wolfe had been represented, revered and commemorated. While Doughty made suggestions throughout the review for furthering the study of Wolfe, nonetheless, he concluded that Dr. Webster had produced a “most valuable work in this field” (p. 350).
